How Much Does a Website Cost in Malaysia?
The guide prices we actually work to for a website in Malaysia, the five things that move the price up or down, and the costs you pay to other people.
The question we get most often on WhatsApp: "How much for a website?" The honest answer is "it depends". But "it depends" does not help you budget. So here are the guide prices Bejaa Digital works to, and what actually moves a price up or down.
Website prices in Malaysia (our guide prices)
| Type of website | What it is for | Guide price |
|---|---|---|
| Landing page (1 page) | One product or one offer. Orders come in by WhatsApp. | RM 1,500 – 2,500 |
| Business website (5 – 8 pages) | Shows what you do, takes enquiries, editable by you. | RM 2,899 – 3,999 |
| Website with booking or catalogue | A site that does a job: takes bookings, lists products, has an admin panel. | RM 6,500 – 8,500 |
| Custom online store | Storefront, cart, FPX checkout, stock and order dashboard. | RM 12,000 – 24,000 |
These are one-time build prices. Every job gets a written quotation with a fixed price and an Included / Excluded / Optional list before work starts. The table is the starting point, not the final bill.
Five things that decide the price
1. How many pages, and how much has to be written
A one-page landing page and an eight-page site are not just "a bit more work". Every page has to be written, laid out and tested on a phone. If your text and photos are ready, the price sits at the lower end of the range. If everything has to be written from nothing, the upper end.
2. Whether you can edit it yourself
A site where you can change text and images after handover costs a little more to build and saves you money for years. You never pay anyone to change a phone number.
3. Whether the site "shows" or "does"
This is the biggest jump. A site that shows information and takes enquiries is one class. A site that takes bookings, manages a product list, or has an admin login needs a database and an admin panel. That is why the range jumps from RM 3,999 to RM 6,500.
4. Online payment
Checkout with FPX and cards means a payment gateway, order confirmations, delivery status, and far more careful testing. A real online store starts at RM 12,000 for that reason, not because of "adding a pay button".
5. Two languages
Our business websites are built in Bahasa Melayu and English. Two languages means two sets of text to write and test. It is included in the business website range above. If you compare quotes from elsewhere, check whether bilingual is included.
Costs you pay directly to other people
These are the ones that get left out of budgets. They are not part of the build price:
- Domain name (for example yourcompany.com.my). Paid once a year to the registrar, usually RM 150 – 300 a year depending on the ending.
- Hosting. Where the site lives. Price depends on the provider and the size of the site.
- Maintenance. A website is not a building. It needs updates, backups, and someone who notices when it goes down. See what a monthly maintenance plan should include.
Why we do not build websites under RM 1,000
Not arrogance. The price covers the build and the support that follows. A RM 500 website cannot be supported properly: no budget to test on phones, no budget to fix things when they break, and usually nobody to call three months later. We would rather say so up front than have you pay twice.
How to get an accurate quote
Three things are enough for us to give a real number: what the site needs to do for you (show, take bookings, or sell), roughly how many pages, and whether the text and photos exist. Send them through the free review form and we reply with a range, not "let's meet first".
Want this for your business?
Send us how you do it today. We reply with the smallest thing that would fix it, not with a package.
